Packing for Casino Nova Scotia Halifax

Before packing for dinner at Casino Nova Scotia Halifax, the guide suggests packing for the door. The checklist below turns the posted rules into a short list for one evening of dinner, a show and perhaps a table.

Photo ID

The photo ID question

Guests get in at 19 and over, with valid government photo ID on them. Any one of a passport, a driver's licence or a provincial ID card is accepted. Because the ID must be valid, check the card's expiry date a few days ahead of the evening.

Look younger than 30? In that case staff may request a second valid ID. Acceptable options are another government photo ID, a debit or credit card, or a provincial health card. The health card appears on the list of second pieces, while the first must be government photo ID. The guide recommends having both on hand from the outset.

The bag

Sizing the bag

Bags and backpacks do not go into the entertainment venue, with two exceptions. One is a small clutch no larger than 5 x 12 x 18 cm. The other is a clear bag no larger than 8 x 35 x 35 cm. Anything else, from a tote to a daypack, stays out.

How do you know which side of the line a bag falls on? A tape measure at home settles it, used on all three sides. The bag tool on this page checks those numbers against both limits inside the open tab.

Paying

Paying at the box office

The theatre box office opens 60 minutes ahead of each show. Payment there is by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or debit; cash is not accepted. Tickets themselves are sold through Ticketmaster, so the card matters for whatever is settled at the window. The guide's advice is to keep the card beside the photo ID.

What about the car? Parking on site is paid. The price is not posted, so this guide gives no figure for it.

Leave at home

Left at home

Cameras, drones and recording devices stay out of the theatre, so a camera bag can stay at home. Food and drink from outside are not allowed either. A small concession inside sells some food and drink.

The entertainment venues are completely smoke-free. That rule covers cannabis, e-cigarettes and vaping, not only tobacco. And if you need to step out partway through? Guests may leave the theatre during an event and come back in.

Questions

Asked at the desk

Which ID comes first if you also carry a health card?

First comes government photo ID: a passport, a driver's licence or a provincial ID card. A provincial health card appears on the list of second pieces, which staff may request if you appear younger than 30.

What size of bag gets into the theatre?

Two kinds pass: a small clutch no larger than 5 x 12 x 18 cm, or a clear bag no larger than 8 x 35 x 35 cm. Other bags and backpacks stay out of the entertainment venue.

Can you find the parking price before you arrive?

The price is not published. Parking on site is paid, and this guide has no figure to give.

Can an e-cigarette be used inside the venue?

Not in the entertainment venues, which are completely smoke-free. The rule covers e-cigarettes, vaping and cannabis.
